THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
The Mental Capacity Act (MCA) continues to be a key theme for learning identified in Safeguarding Adult Reviews both regionally and nationally.
Join Oldham Safeguarding Adults Board for an event with guest speaker Neil Allen (Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester and Barrister) who will be discussing the complexities of the Mental Capacity Act experienced across agencies in Oldham, Bury and Rochdale highlighted by HM Coroner. On the day, we will be exploring the interface between mental health and mental capacity; executive capacity (including the impact of alcohol and drugs); the level of detail required in assessments as they become more complex; and much more.
The event will take place at 9:00-12:30 on Wednesday 30 October 2024 at Earl Business Centre, Dowry St, Oldham OL8 2PF. It is for all agencies whose staff may be required to consider the MCA in practice. This could include agencies working with children (16-17 year olds) and adult services, statutory and the voluntary sector. All frontline staff, managers and strategic leads are welcome. To book your place please send your name, role, and email address to OldhamSafeguardingAdultsBoard@oldham.gov.uk.
