Partner agencies across Greater Manchester are coordinating a week-long programme of events and campaigns in the lead up to Anti-Slavery Day on 18 October 2024.
Anti-Slavery Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the fact over 49.6 million people in the world today, and an estimated 136,000 people in the UK, are trapped in conditions of modern slavery. It was created by the Anti-Slavery Day Act.
On 15 October 2024, Oldham Safeguarding Adults Board (OSAB) are hosting a 'safeguarding webinar' titled Understanding Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking. For OSAB, safeguarding webinars are the chance for multi-agency practitioners to watch a pre-recorded training session and ask questions. The session that will be shown was originally hosted by Greater Manchester Police and received excellent feedback. Practitioners from agencies across Greater Manchester are welcome to join.
To book a place, send your name, role, and email address to OldhamSafeguardingAdultsBoard@oldham.gov.uk. For more details, see the flyer below.
