Channel referrals should be made where there is a concern that a person is at risk of being radicalised into terrorism, or extremism leading to terrorism. Like other safeguarding concerns relating to adults at risk, Channel referrals are made through the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to: adult.mash@oldham.gov.uk tel: 0161 770 7777.

In order to improve the consistency and quality of the information provided in Channel referrals, the government has introduced a national Channel referral form. A copy of this incorporating Oldham contact details can be found below. The completed form needs to be submitted as an attachment when making a Channel referral using the MASH online safeguarding referral form. Please start using this with immediate effect.

Training is available about preventing involvement in terrorism or extremism leading to terrorism, and about the Channel safeguarding arrangements.
