Who Should Attend?
Do you supervise or manage practitioners who work with adults who are experiencing risk in their lives? If so, this session is for you.
Designed specifically for supervisors, senior practitioners, managers, service managers and anyone with responsibility for supporting frontline staff, this session will help you strengthen your understanding of Oldham’s multi-agency approach to risk management and develop the confidence to lead and support good practice.

Why Attend?
Managing risk is rarely straightforward. Practitioners often work with adults whose circumstances involve multiple and interconnected risks, requiring careful balancing of safeguarding duties, individual rights, personal choice, and professional responsibilities.
As a manager or supervisor, you play a crucial role in helping practitioners navigate these challenges. This session will explore how the Team Around the Adult (TAA) approach and the Tiered Risk Assessment and Management (TRAM) Protocol can support effective, person-centred and coordinated responses to risk.
You'll gain practical insight into how these processes work and how you can champion their use through multi-agency collaboration, supervision and performance management.
Course Aims and Objectives
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- recognise the benefits of multi-agency working and shared decision-making
- navigate the Oldham TRAM Protocol with confidence
- understand the purpose and responsibilities of the Team Around the Adult (TAA) and the Lead Professional role
- know when information can be shared under the agreed multi-agency Data Sharing Arrangements.
- identify when High and Critical risk levels should be considered and applied
- learn from local examples of successful use of the TRAM protocol
- understand what your role in the TRAM Protocol could involve
- use supervision and performance management processes to positively reinforce the importance of the TRAM Protocol.
